The Book
THE BOOK: I'm Doing The Best I Can! (They won't always be cute and adorable) is about stopping the insanity that is happening within the family unit today, and bringing back the 'tough love' of a generation past.
Parents can help their offspring find their very own pride and self-worth by teaching basic values and integrity. The hope is to stop creating self-absorbed children who may be doomed to lives of disappointment when they grow up to find that the world really doesn't revolve around them.
With the security of prudent boundaries and consistency, parents will raise good, decision-making children who, hopefully, will not fall prey to unhealthy temptations that come their way!
The issues that Lisa talks about throughout THE BOOK should be put into affect as early as age one. Lisa has seen how young children learn the art of manipulation at a very young age. Children do not need to have every one of their needs met at a drop of a dime. It is okay for them to learn to respect how valuable your time is and if you are attending to another issue, you will be right with them. By responding to them in a fashion that shows there isn't an 'urgency' every time they 'need' something, you are not only teaching them how to be patient, you are also teaching them that your time is valuable as well.
Remember, if you begin positive behavior from the beginning they may not have such demanding attitudes as they get older.
THE BOOK “I’m Doing The Best I Can!“ (They won’t always be cute and adorable) is being said to be "one of the most down to earth parenting and family resource you will find."
